What causes this error?

You’re running an ad that promotes a third-party brand or product (an ‘influencer’ or ‘partnership’ post), but you haven’t applied the required Branded Content tag. Meta mandates transparency for paid partnerships.

How to fix it

  1. Add the Branded Content tag: In the Ad level settings, toggle on ‘Branded Content’ and tag the business partner’s Facebook Page.
  2. Get approval first: The partner’s Page must approve your branded content tag request before the ad can go live.
  3. Use the Brand Collabs Manager: For ongoing influencer partnerships, set up pre-approvals through Meta’s Brand Collabs Manager to streamline the tagging process.
