What causes this error?

Meta attempted to automatically charge your payment method on file for accumulated ad spend, but the transaction was declined by your bank or payment provider.

How to fix it

  1. Check your card: Log into your bank and verify the card isn’t expired, frozen, or over its limit.
  2. Update payment method: In Ads Manager, go to Payment Settings and either update the existing card details or add a new payment method.
  3. Manual payment: Click ‘Pay Now’ to manually clear the outstanding balance. Once paid, your ads will automatically resume delivery within a few hours.
  4. Add a backup method: Always keep a secondary payment method on file so Meta can fall back to it if the primary fails.
